“They played a HUGE role in creating the future of music.” PRINCE

To celebrate six decades of George Clinton thrilling and delighting fans worldwide, Charly have relaunched their Funkadelic catalogue with lavishly packaged and newly mastered editions, including limited color vinyl LPs.

Funkadelic’s eleventh studio LP released in 1979, ‘Uncle Jam Wants You’ stated mandate was to “rescue dance music from the blahs”. The album features a 15-minute version of what was to become the Funkadelic’s last hit single ‘(Not Just) Knee Deep’ which made no.1 in the US R&B chart. A reference to the “Uncle Sam Wants You!” US Army recruitment poster, the sleeve depicts George Clinton aka Dr Funkenstein in a Huey Newton Black Panthers pose.
