1964 debut album by the British Beat band Downliners Sect, also known simply as ‘The Sect’. The band were a rhythm and blues group that emerged as part of the British blues boom and gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and raw, bluesy sound.
Formed in 1963 in London, they were one of the first British bands to embrace and interpret the sound of American blues artists such as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Jimmy Reed and helped to popularise the genre in the UK alongside The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds.
