The Journey … So Far sees Mike d’Abo making a welcome return to the forefront of today’s music scene, with this, his latest album. It is an outstandingly personal yet universal statement of intent, reaffirming his status as one of the most distinctive and enduring voices in British songwriting. Having started out singing on a string of hits with Manfred Mann, including the chart topping ‘Mighty Quinn’, he’s still best remembered for writing ‘Handbags & Gladrags’ and ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’, two iconic songs that have since become the soundtrack of so many people’s lives.

Both songs are lovingly revisited here with fresh and vibrant new interpretations, along with ten brand new songs that illustrate with searing honesty all the peaks & valleys he’s experienced on his extraordinary journey. While some songs reveal a spiritual dimension that reflect the conflicts we all face in life; other songs, celebrating the joys of life, are sung with an explosive energy and resilience that belies his age!

Produced by Jess Bailey with a master’s touch, the album is a beautifully crafted work of art that effortlessly connects past eras with the present, indicating that while Mike has continued honing his craft, he also proved his durability.
