Robert Lewis Beavers was born on June 19th, 1937 in Cartersville Georgia, he was a recording artist for over two decades, wrote a US #1 single and registered over 100 songs with BMI. He recorded his debut singles with his former Air Force buddy Johnny Bristol with whom he penned the No.1 hit ‘Someday We’ll Be Together’ for Diana Ross & The Supremes.
This solid soul set brings together, for the very first time, the best of Beavers’ rare soul 45s from his own Jaber and Grand Land imprints and the Nashville giant Sound Stage 7. We also include – for the collector – a stunning, unreleased at the time, version of the Johnny Bristol song “What Does It Take” and the self-penned and unreleased “Sad Memories”.
