The album was compiled by the band’s manager and producer Giorgio Gomelski especially for the US market, ahead of their first tour. Despite being depicted on the cover Jeff Beck only appears as lead guitarist on three tracks, whilst Eric Clapton appears on the remaining songs.

This release was massively influential on the emerging US garage rock scene.
