When the magnificent El Magnifico landed on the streets of New York in 1966 it tore up the latino dancehalls across the city.

Joe Cotto, aka “El Magnifico”, is without doubt one of the greatest interpreters of modern latin music of the 20th Century. An outstanding conductor, he hails from the town of Naguabo in Puerto Rico, a place known for its famous artists.

Cotto and his band were known and loved not only in America but the world over. Charly is proud to be able to re-issue this classic recording made by Cotto at the peak of his musical powers.
